  1. Thanks for the post, Cap'n!!!
Neal Adams doing an issue or ten of KISS would have been FABULOUS!!!

    1. I know, right? Cannae find more KISS, but I have now put up a better version of it- what looks to have been a possible wrap-around cover

  2. I've never seen that Kiss piece, but how about Adams on the cover of Rock Comics drawing Thor (not the Marvel character)? Also there's that weird Adams strip involving Native American imagery that was meant to be an insert in an Eric Burden album and ended up being printed in Epic.

  3. Neal Adams, Might Groundhogs Who Will Save the World album cover, Grand Funk All The Girls In The World Beware inside album cover, Trixter album cover; Richard Corben, Wrack and Roll book cover for rock-themed science fiction novel; Moebius, Jimi Hendrix Are You Experieneced/Axis Bold as Love French reissue album cover, Jimi Hendrix Emotions Electriques portfolio; Graphic Elvis, book of Elvis Presley related stories including one by Paul Gulacy; John Severin, Cracked 42 Beatles parody.
I'm sure I've seen others, but that should be enough to start with.

  4. Naturally, two minutes after I posted I started remembering others:
Neal Adams, Batman 222 Beatles knockoff comic cover, Swamp Boogie Queen - Ill-Gotten Bootie album cover; Michael Golden, Kiss: Psycho Circus 1-5 comic covers.
And art for rock albums, though it doesn't depict rock bands:
Neal Adams, Electric Light Orchestra Part Two - For the Love of a Woman single cover; Mike Kaluta, Glenn Danzig - Black Aria album cover, Various artists - Nativity in Black & Nativity in Black II, Black Sabbath tribute albums with Kaluta covers and illustrated booklets; and, of course, the first two Meat Loaf albums with cover paintings by Corben and Wrightson.

    1. Wow, thanks so much! Somehow, I'd never seen the Corben cover, and I'd thought of Moebius doing Hendrix, but then spaced it. Yeah, you hit on it, some great art is on album covers by Frazetta, Roger Dean, Wrightson and Corb's Meatloaf, etc., but dunnae depict rock stars, etc, but some of your other leads (and Russ') leads me to feel there must be a Rock Stars Deux post in the near future

  5. The Cap'n works so hard for us all, the least I can do is help out with links to a couple of nice pieces I just found better copies of than what was already in my folders.
Neal Adams Grand Funk tour poster, much better scan of same image as album:

Beautiful EC tribute with Roger Daltry standing in for the Crypt Keeper from one of the many rock bootlegs William Stout did covers for:
