First Cap'n Action by Wally Wood


If you discount the lame cover, this is the first Cap'n Action by ANYONE (cept'n the toy drawings, since he was already an action figure--not a doll!- but this would be the first comicbook image).  That drawn-out explanation reminds me of my love, who sometimes makes me doze while she's explain'n sumpn

    Technically, Cap, the first Captain Action by anybody was this weird little mini-comic drawn by Chic Stone. You can see the whole thing over at Kerry Callen's blog

      Sweet! Chic Stone is part of my favorite Jack Kirby inkers trio, which is Mike Royer, Joe Sinnott, and Chic Stone
