Avengers Treasury Cover by Jack Kirby

  1. I always wondered why, on the back cover, Kirby had two versions of Hank Pym (Giant-Man and Yellowjacket) who were in different costumes than the Hank Pym/Goliath (in his first Goliath uniform, there were three) on the front!
Did he think they were different characters?
If it was to show different incarnations of the same character, why was the Wasp in the same outfit?
    She had hundreds!
Why was Iron Man in the same armor?
At this point there were at least a half-dozen different ones he could've been shown in including the all-gold original and the "horned helmet" version besides the current one!

  2. You've got me-I was often puzzled by the whole Giant-man/Hawkeye/Yellowjacket thingy (and maybe Jack was, too), but I've added my fav G-man costume to this post

  3. Hank Pym: Ant-Man/Giant-Man/Goliath I/YellowJacket then back to Ant-Man.
Clint Barton: Hawkeye/Goliath II (after Hank became Yellowjacket, so there's no point where there are two Goliaths simultanously) then back to Hawkeye, and briefly during Avengers WestCoast, back to Goliath II, then back to Hawkeye.
Don't ask me about anthing after 2001.
    It's too confusing...
