I remember getting the Berkley Conan series (with the Ken Kelly foldouts) because they were the first time the pure Howard Conan was being published without all of the editorial meddling and amendations that were done in the Lancer books with the cool Frazetta covers.
Drat! Never even glanced inside, just removed the Ken Kelly and traded em in. I've always had this Marie Kondo with books n comics, and I'd had two copies of the Lancer (Frazettas) since they all came out, one to read and one to gaze at. Wasnae real impressed with the multiple editors/channelers of Howard, so I probly woulda dug the Berkley stuff
The large Ballantine/Del Ray trades from the early 2000s are good for uncut Howard. Not only his stories in the order they were published, but also his notes and story fragments that have survived. Nice illustrations on some of them; I particularly like Gary Gianni's Conan and Solomon Kane pics.
