There are other pages from around then that show Jack was going to merge the Galactus story they'd been running with the Thermal Man, who seems was going to be a much more apocalyptic menace than the cipher he ended up as. Pretty frustrating stretch, as the Galactus origin was cut off before it truly made sense and the long sagas were ended in favor of these single-issue burps. The art was always great though. Bill Everett inks!
ReplyDeleteYeah, true all dat. Go back and see Galacthor On The Bench post for my take on the panel that kinda sums up what you're say'n. Kirby's Kosmic Koncepts were a little much for Marvel at that point, methinks, so thank goodness for The Fourth World over at DC
