I had bought Charlton comics second-hand ( for 5 cents at a place I used to spend my lawn-mowing money ) because they were so strange-looking. Blue Beetle # 2 was the first one I bought new at a bus terminal news stand. I thought it was the first issue because it was the origin. When I figured out what I had, I almost immediately took a bus back to the same news stand and bought # 1.
