I have to be honest and admit I prefer Marie Severin's modifications to this classic image. Steranko's Hulk looks a bit too deranged. But I'm also glad I got to see both versions.
Agree to disagree (finally! that phrase has cracked me up forever, and I finally got to use it). I dig Steranko's pampador, better head size, and sweat on the original. That being said, the published version was all I had for many moons, and it was definitely an iconic grail
It was published on the UK comic "The Mighty World of Marvel" issue 129 with the Steranko head, albeit it was used for a different story than the original. I like both versions but prefer Steranko's version.
Yeah, Kid (with the Crivens! comics blog) turned me onto the cover of TMWOM 129 a few years ago, and it's a real beauty! By the way, I dig YOUR blog, and nice to see Wrightson's Night Prowler up for the holiday. Check out my Christmas post sometime soon
