American Justice by Jim Steranko

  1. New to me too. The fact that it's hand-signed indicates a limited edition print. These seem to be public domain patriotic characters (Left to right: Flag-Man, V-Man, Yankee Doodle Jones and I don't know who the kid is, but he's probably about to die anyway. If Liberty Belle had a sidekick I'd call him Dingaling.) I wonder if this was released in conjunction with Craig Yoe's recent collection, The Super Patriotic Heroes?

    1. Ya got me--it was up on ebay as American Justice, and no descriptors

    2. The kid is Johnny Rebel originally from Yankee Comics - a sort of average version of his costume, which was colored differently in different comics. But I've never seen the painting before either. I have no idea when it was painted and if or where it was published.

  2. This was completed by Steranko in 2019 as a book cover for The Liberty Brigade. Jim also sold the image as a print. I have a hi-res scan if you would like to see it better.
