Apparently, he painted this on hardboard, because he had some to hand and he'd run out of canvases. If you look at a good scan, you can see the colour and texture of the board in the background. At the
ReplyDeleteleast, it saved him laying down a background coat of sepia...
Yeah, and made for an awesome look. I dig Monster Out Of Time and Kavin's World, also on masonite
