Another Look at the Sketchbook by Jack Kirby

So, I lied back when I said it was the last time I would put up some of Jack's Black Book Valentine to Roz

It's kinda like Starhawks by Gil Kane--I'm drawn (sic) to it over and over

  1. Hi-

I don't see any other way to contact you, so I hope you see my comment. Do you have a more complete/darker scan of the Fighting American pencils? I wanted to take a crack at inking it myself via bluelines.

If nothing else I'll fill in what I can't see by looking at what Machlan and Terry Beatty did. I've done a lot of looking online, but can't find a better scan than what you posted. I see you did find some upgrades to other ones.

Thank you and love your blog!!!

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Doug, but, no, unfortunately I don't have a better Fight'n American pencil scan. As you probably know, I like to re-post the same things as I get better images, so keep watching. Very timely comment, by the by, as I have another posting of the Black Book Valentine in the works (this will make the third or fourth one since I said last one in the not-so-distant).. Back when I sold my copy, this was the best I could make on an awful scanner and being unable to flatten the book

  3. After look'n again, I've added a darker version of the same scan, in the hopes that would help
