The Black Panther by John Buscema



 The splash at the end of this comic gets all the "iconic" praise, but I dig this even more.  I've talked before about Big John's issue #4 epiphanies with Sub-Mariner and Silver Surfer, but these Avengers crested on an amaz'n high note too

    Back when he was doing full art, I loved #49 and #50 where he inked himself. Powerful stuff.

      So true. Beginning of the century, I find a little comic shop nestled amongst the fish slingers at the market in Seattle, and a glass case holds Avengers #50 for ten bucks, and I was float'n, to get onea my fav covers ibn really good condition for a song
