Conan by Frederic Cooper

You know me, I take my Conan however I can get him, but who the heck is Frederic Cooper?  The faces remind me of young Berni Wrightson

  1. No idea either. There's another drawing from the same time that looks to be a Wrightson copy, but I also found this more recent piece (80's), very Lovecraftian: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1470718

    1. Thanks. Still wondering if there were some comics and/or fanzines I just missed. The eighties weren't kind to me comic-wise

  2. He also drew this little picture of Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes, but that's all I could find out about him.

The few known comic books credited to Frederic Cooper by GCD or Comic Vine look to me like the work of a different guy with the same name.

    1. Cool Sherlock Holmes! Thanks for look'n aound, but guess he's like a one-shot on the Top 40, gone with the wind

  3. Wrightson did several fantastic covers for ROCKET'S BLAST COMIC COLLECTOR.

And many other gorgeous ones by Fantucchio, John Adkins Richardson, Don Newton, Richard Corben, Robert Kline, Gil Kane, Stephen Fabian, Tom Sutton, Kerry Gammill, Mike Zeck, Ron Wilber, and many others.

    Wrightson covers on 114, 117, and 125.
