Ditko's 1950's covers (and covers made from splash pages) are just the best. Just got my copy of the kickstarted Mr. A comic, and the new coloring is not quite so great.
Yikes! Yesterday I sold a pile of comics that included Mr. A #2 (Mr. A VS Count Rouge), cause I'm constantly distill'n my collection down to what I consider its purest essence. I dunno of this kickstarter comic of which you speak, but I always envision Mr. A as black'n white (cept for that beauty wraparound on The Collector 26 fanzine). I do like me some colors done on the aborted 1990 Mr. A series, and I'll slap some up soon
Thought I'd sent you a link; just search for Ditkoverse.com. It's the Ditko family's project to publish a lot of his independent works. And I agree; all of the indy work looks best in black and white.
