Belated Valentine's by Jack Kirby

Oooops!  I had a really nice fundundant post of the Black Book Valentine Pencils Jack did for Roz, and it woulda been the umpteenth time I did it for Valentine's Day, but this year, life got in the way, and I just realized I only had moments left to even get a VD post up in the right month, and I can't do a gigantor batch of pictures (apparently the blog bartender says he hasta cut me off), and I just said how much I dig every Black Bolt Jack ever did, so here's one of many, but please search Roz on here for the whole magilla

Coupla More Six/Sevens by Berni Wrightson

Again, onea my great view'n delights in the comic art world is work by Teenage Berni.  The Frankenstein piece may be the most six/seven of the whole she-bang, as it is dated "1966-1967"

Planet Of Lost Remotes by Jim Pinkoski

This shows Star Command's historic first landing on that mythological planet (no, this great drawing isn't called POW--that's just the name of the fanzine it appeared in in 1970).  I've lost two remotes over the years.  One was hidden under an ottoman by a hyper puppy, and discovered months after its replacement was ordered.  The other was under a high chair booster thingy we had strapped to a kitchen table chair, again found months later

Revisit'n The Cover To Fantastic Four #82 by Jack Kirby

Only new image on here is the first one, and it's new around here cause it just came out twenty years ago, so it took some get'n used to.  But, seriously, folks, it's a beauty version of onea the all-time great covers, and embiggens nicely.  Onea the few times, by the by, where my own copy is up here (for the original cover).

Philip Marlowe by Jim Steranko

Okay, the last one is not Marlowe, but an unrealized Chandler.  Chandler, acourse, is Steranko's incredible visual novel that sits perfectly on my flattened palm

Flyer VS Batman by Gil Kane

Another guilty pleasure from when I worked at a comic shop for a hot minute in 1991 was Legends of the Dark Knight (everything was free, and none of the usual suspects were doing much)

Monkey'n Around With Jack Kirby

Deja Vu all over again, but I really feel I've put this up before.  Oh, well, this 1947 cover to Treasure Comics #10 deserves a view even if it is fundundant and I just dunno
One minute later, here's the image I put up seven years ago (Hey! Leggo! That's no banana, that's my nose)--Durante

A Tiny Six/Seven by Berni Wrightson

You already know what I'm gonna ask, doncha?  This teeny paint'n by teenage Berni looks amazeballs, but I can't really see it.  If you know of a better version, please holla

Barbaric Barry And Bob

At first thought, Barry Smith and Bob Kline may seem like an odd couple (The Odd Couple was a fav TV show when it came along.  I, natch, was the slob character.), but the two have a lotta similarities for me.  They came into my comic consciousness at the same time, 1970, and I instantly fixated on their art for no real explainable reason ("it's way cool").  I've never waivered on either one since then, and I'm always thrilled to see sump'n sump'n new to me by them.  These two images, in particular, had to be posted together.  In a stack of loose pieces of paper on the floor of my closet, they were one after the other in the middle of the stack, and besides both sport'n horned helmets and swords, I honestly don't recall if I've put them up before

Daredevil VS Sub Mariner by Wally Wood

Never really thought about it til now, but I only have 2 trad'n cards by Wally- this, and The Spirit.  Weird, cause onea my major geek-outs at the end of last century was trad'n cards, probly a three-way tie with Steranko, Wrightson, and Jack Kirby.  Anyhoo, search Daredevil #7 on here to see how fundundant this image was in the wayback

Two New Pictures by Mike Kaluta!

Yeah, yeah, just new to me.  They were nestled in a book at the library for twenty years (who knew?).  I call em Fantasy Foodtruck Flat and Griffin Meets Bigfoot

Geni Pants by Steve Ditko

Forget that the young Geni in the original ends up as grizzled as the Cap'n, but his blue pants turned red!  Reminds me of the diddy Don't It Make My Blue Eyes Red?  Allergies, maybe

Flash'n Swords! #1 Watercolor Rough by Frank Frazetta

Would there actually be two roughs of the same norseman (no sword, by the by)?  Hhhhhmmmm

New Six/Seven by Berni Wrightson!

Yeah, yeah, just new to me, and just the first three.  Teenage Berni art is just the cat's meow, I feel, and I was so pumped to see them.  If you know of more from 1966/1967 or thereabouts, please holla

Eyes Of Mars Page by Mike Kaluta

First published thing ever, 20-year-old Kaluta had this second page (with the first page and other pages) published in the fanzine Graphic Showcase.  EOM was in the first 3 issues, and sump'n sweet had arrived on the comic art scene

Dig'n Me Some Steve Ditko

This is so spot on for me.  Years ago I was dig'n holes for fence posts, when I hit a massive rock.  As I worked to dig it out, I discovered it was a boulder (makes sense, as I was dig'n in Boulder).  When my hole got to be about this size, I decided to cut a post shorter so it looked like it was as deep as the other posts

Atlas Shrugged by Jack Kirby

Lots a Atlas up on here in the wayback, but not this one, at least not where it was called Atlas.  It's nestled in a coupla my Valentine's posts amongst a plethora (some folks tell me it's nice when I use that word-that it means a lot to them) of the sketches Jack did for Roz for her black book Valentine.  Even those don't show the fineline pencils like this (please embiggen), though

Sandman Deluxe Covers by Mike Kaluta

Just saw these at the local library, and one regret is the online images don't show that they're wrap-arounds
