The Cover I Dreamed About In 1971 by Frank Frazetta
34-year-old Russ Cochran was a genius, and he had his buddy Fritz do hand-colored prints of this each unique and with an extra ink sketch at the bottom. As a poor 15-year-old, however, it was way outta my league, and I had a recurring dream that I would someday see it as the cover it was always meant to be. viola, as Bugs Bunny says

A Fistful Of Berni Wrightson
That last one looks like a fanzine illo, but I dunnae know for sure. If you happen to know, please holla
Some Play'n Cards by Frank Frazetta
So, I guess this proves what you've long suspected-that the Cap'n isnae play'n with a full deck (but in a good way, I like to think)
Galactus And The Silver Surfer by Jack Kirby
First is a blacknwhite I found in a fanzine way back, which I quickly butchered. Pencils and inks by Jack, colored pencils by the Cap'n. Then two of the actual Marvelmania posters, and finally, Galactus by his lonesome as the best version I've seen of his appearance in Kirby's Black Book Valentine to Roz

Coupla Things from Planetoid by Rich Corben
In 1992, Heavy Metal was off my radar, but I know I would've dug this had I known. When HM came out in the seventies, we were all about it. For some reason, that half splash makes me think of another 70's fascination--the back-up band for David Bowie, which of course makes me wanna watch Zoolander for the umpteenth time

Doc Weird by Jim Starlin
I originally got the 1972 fanzine Star-Studded #18 for the cover, but I love what Starlin did here with Weird

Police Your Planet by Jim Steranko
Steranko did a plethora of great paperback covers, but I'm think'n I neglected this one (who knows, anymore). Even if it's fundundant, however, I just saw it in blacknwhite in Steranko's awesome Cartoonists and Illustrators (#3? with the Neal Adams cover), and enjoyed it all over again. The guy with the dagger always reminds me of Obi-Wan, and the rocket ship brings back the first time I saw the escape ship in Jim's X-Men

Another Landing by Wally Wood
Onea Wally's trademarks at EC was all the spaceship landings on brave new worlds, but I dunnae think I've seen (or put up) this one before. It's simple, but I dig it. If you know if and/or where this was used, please holla

Elfin Conan by Berni Wrightson
Five years and a week ago, I posted three elfin Conans from Infinity 1 fanzine that were all tiny and distorted, and asked for anyone to holla about better images. Well, today, I found one of em. Infinity ! is the fanzine grail I've never seen
The Secret People Blacklight Poster by Frank Frazetta
Had this up in the wayback (and the waywayback), but I had no idea it was also a blacklight. The middle image is the original, but if you're spelunk'n, I think you might prefer to see a cavern lit up like the first (or at least the second) image

Moonlight Feels Right by Berni Wrightson
Speak'n of A Look Back, here's ANOTHER one from that great tome. Berni did several awesome werewolves (ie Swamp Thing #4 ), but this beast is like a werewolf on steroids. In 1976, Starbuck was a one-hit-wonder band with Moonlight Feels Right, and I still like to hear it now and then
Tars Tarkas Bookmark by Berni Wrightson
Okay, dunnae think this was ever a bookmark, but it would've been a great one. Last two were up before, but first is how it looked (sorta) in the fantastic A Look Back. Tons more on this in not-so-distant posts
