The Man Called Death by Jim Steranko



Okay, for years I'd seen the two try-out pages Steranko was given to ink, Kirby discards after someone figured out Shield would be a better acronym than Death, but I dinnae know the splash was colored and came out as a variant cover.  Remember:  Cap'n is so broke he cannae even pay attention

    Actually, the King drew five pages of this, as I recollect. For what exactly and why not used, I don't recall. They were finally published as part of a 50th anniversary of SHIELD issue of that recent awful SHIELD comic.

    Sounds cool, but I've only seen the two-maybe other pages were given to other aspiring artists
