This Special Issue of Conan, re-print'n the Academy Award issues #2 and #4 of Conan, has my favorite drawing by Barry Smith.  If it had re-printed the covers of those two amaz'n issues, it woulda ascended to some other level status.  This copy is in the best shape since I picked it up at 7-11, so please embiggen and enjoy

Creepy #9

This mag is a big bowl of amaze-balls smothered in awesome sauce.  We see the cover by Frank Frazetta a lot, but it also has Berni Wrightson's submission to the fan page (so maybe the first published Wrightson?).  Gray Morrow does a beautiful job on the cover story, Wally Wood is the usual wow-wood on Overworked, Steve Ditko has another beautiful ink- washes story in The Spirit of the Thing, and there's even an ok Reed Crandall and Alex Toth story, and my third favorite Loathsome Lore is a beautiful page by Roy Krenkel.  And check out the ads by Fritz!  key word is beautiful
