The Prisoner "Monitor the World" by Jack Kirby

One of my favorite shows as a kid was The Prisoner.  It was weird and wonderful just like the awe-struck viewer, and I spent many a moment wishing the prisoner could be transformed into another 007/Flint/ Man from U.N.C.L.E. series, but I took what I could get.  Here's where I sound like a stick in the mud--I never imagined it as a comic, and after seeing the attempts by Jack Kirby and Gil Kane, I still don't.  The version of the FF as Prisoners of Doc Doom was incredible, but obviously not true to the show.  Having said all that, I love, LOVE this drawing from Kirby's unpublished The Prisoner.  First here as how I saw it as a preview in Steranko's Mediascene, then the pencils, then my attempt to draw out the pencil details with dark'n

  1. Wonder if anyone has the complete first issue (including the two-page spread)?
Some if the story was inked, even more was lettered, but there are a number of pages only in pencil form.
BTW, you can read the entire tale (scanned from 1st-generation photocopies, not original pencils like you have) here...
