Lin's Adult Fantasy series is one of my favorite collections. The love and care he had for the old writers was infectious. Of course he did go overboard sometimes by heavy editing, but what editor doesnt?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I discovered some cool fantasy stories in that 14 year run. Dig the heavy editing myself, it kept everything "short and sweet." The lack of strong editing in recent decades made most of the SF and fantasy books fatter, but not necessarily better, in my humble
