At this rate, gonna go to my grave loving Jones’ drawings. But, dang, the paintings were… Of all the acolytes of Frazetta, Jones was the best draftsman among them, or at least the closest to Fritz. But the rendering of his paintings was, well, far from the level of Frazetta’s. Looked great reduced to paperback size, but the originals, I found when I saw them on display, was disappointing.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, but it's the opposite for me, I'll take a Jones paperback painting any day over his pen'n ink
