1972 World's Best SF by Frank Frazetta

Supposedly, five years after Frazetta's favorite Warren cover (mine too), Catgirl, was published, the DAW bookclub used Fritz's repainted painting as their dust jacket.  It makes sense, since the girl is pretty spot on in both, the circular tree is shadowed by a strange, pacman-shaped planet, and Fritz dubs this new painting his new favorite.  But, twenty-sump'n more years after that, he produces a repainted Catgirl, with the same tree and a couple of the same cats.  Did he repaint the repainted painting?  I'd like to know what painting, if any, still exists.  First image is the actual SF cover, so apparently that was touched up also.  Any insights on this would be much appreciated, and now I'm going to pull a Sherlock Holmes and go ponder the intricacies of the human condition (sleep).  Peace out
