This is so spot on for me. Years ago I was dig'n holes for fence posts, when I hit a massive rock. As I worked to dig it out, I discovered it was a boulder (makes sense, as I was dig'n in Boulder). When my hole got to be about this size, I decided to cut a post shorter so it looked like it was as deep as the other posts
