The First (?) Black Condor by Jim Steranko

Just saw this first image in the Comic & Fantasy Art Amateur Press Association's take on fanzines, and it sounds like that led to the cover of Portfolio One and then Fantastic Fanzine 11

Bootpants by Berni Wrightson

Last post's inclusion of the Conan Levi ad made me think again of this great barrel-chested barbarian from young Berni.  The pants and boots are all one item of clothing

Superhero Ad by Barry Smith

First is how we saw it as original art for sale ($500, or just over 2000 comics at the time) in Cartoonists And Illustrators Portfolio, then various ways it's been up on here over the years.  The blurb under the art read that it was commisioned by an ad agency.  The urban legends last century said it ended up as the cover on a rock album, ala Preflyte by The Byrds, but I personally never saw it.  After those, we have the Conan ad for Levi's (hah!), and finally, the Vision ad, a real ad for adventure week in TV Guide

Warfront Cover by Jack Kirby

I know John Morrow did a massive collection of the Mainline comics by Simon & Kirby, but how about all their Harvey stuff?  Dunno if there is one, and if there is, dunno if I could afford it

Frank Frazetta and Jim Steranko

First is the quarter page they shared in the 1968 fanzine On The Draw'n Board, then the chap Talon, then my fav Fritz from Steranko's Mediascene

Conan Rides Again! by Barry Smith

First is how it appeared in 1975, in Shelf Stuff, then how it appeared in 1977, in Cartoonists And Illustrators Portfolio #1

Hodgepodge

(or mishmash, or bits 'n bobs, or odds 'n ends, or folders full).  The Kaluta swords in the middle are just me look'n at a way-back post after those great books got mentioned again, and realiz'n I'd left out some beauties
