Okay, here's the other four illos Art found while clean'n his office, then somea my Art favs from the wayback. Thanks sooooo much, Art! Merry Christmas! You're the best
Fantastic. Someone get this guy a contract and a sandwich. I vaguely remember ads for Id, Ego, Aeon...was it just a general comics fanzine from the 70's ? My damn time machine is still in the shop, or I'd be buying them up now.
Right there with ya! All I really recall was see'n them at Scottie Scott's house, so HE had seen an advertisement and sent in money, but I either missed it entirely, or passed on it to keep buying more comics (dumb). Scottie traded his Bran Mak Morn paperback with the Frazetta cover and the REH words to me that day (yeah), but he wouldn't part with his nifty little fanzines (bummer). They were 4" by 5", or roughly the size of a piece of paper folded in half. Spectrum Publications out of Canada, apparently put out by Vince Marchesano, but young Art did a tona the work on them, too, and various other folks I'm not versed in. Occasionally, you can find one or two on eBay, so you don't have to wait for your time machine to come back from the shop (if mine ever gets fixed, I'm going to the fifties and buy'n up a pile of mint original ECs, but I'll be hop'n the soda shop clerk doesn't notice my five dollar bill is from the future)
Marchesano is another name I remember from both Orb and Power Comics. I haven't thought about this stuff in decades. Gene Day's Dark Fantasy was also in that digest size. https://dmrbooks.com/test-blog/2022/9/24/gene-day-40-years-gone
AND Gene Day had stuff in Orb! This is all weav'n into the awesome Canadian Co-inky-dink (too bad Ryan Reynolds wasn't even born until 1976-you know, cause he's Deadpool and Canadian). Gene Day is often woven into my ramblings, also, and lately, I've had the desire to obtain the book Future Days
