Maybe the most fundundant thing on the "fun but redundant" blog is this obsessive VD post of many of the beauties Jack drew for Roz in the black book Valentine
I've sighed and thought that on more than one occasion myself, but I really love a few of his Spideys. The one here is che great to me, and it embodies a "rubbery" flexibility I only notice so nicely conveyed in the one-shot Dingbats. The other two I really dig are his unused Spidey for the Marvelmania posters and his pencil of Spidey for a Marvelmania Magazine cover
These are a lot a fun, but if you watch closely, most posts are 1 or 2 pictures and little or no words beyond the title. At heart, I love the phrase "it was the least I could do...so I did it!" Da blog is a selfish passion of trying to have all my fav artwork at my beck and call, but the four-letter word ("work") is avoided whenever possible
Is it just me, or was Spiderman the one character that Jack Kirby really could not draw very well?
