The published panel was in the comic that tied with New Gods #7 for the greatest comic ever (in Cap'n's mind)-Fantastic Four King-Size Special! #5, so the pencils are a moot point this time, as Joe Sinnott also ties Mike Royer for greatest Kirby inker ever. But the pencils are still wondrous to me. Love how Kirby says what's happen'n in a five-word note that detracts not one bit from the art. Other notes in the original art call this new baddie Psychon, instead of the published Psycho-Man. Either way, it's better than Master of Emotions

It's, to me, the last great Marvel Annual, but would it break the tie if you were reminded that those inks (though credited to Sinnott) are really Giacoia? Sinnott inked the double page pin-up and I think an Inhumans pin-up, but the stories were all Frank.
ReplyDeleteAs Miss Congeniality once said, I had NO idea! All I know for certain, it looks dern nice, and it ain't Syd or Vinnie (boo! hiss!), so the tie stands, followed right behind by Conan #4 and Shield #2 and Swamp Thing #2 and Silver Surfer #4 and Amaze'n Spiderman King Size Special #2 (ah, I see, another great Marvel Annual) and Daredevil #7 and ...
