The Micronauts Are Coming! by Michael Golden

1977, and the big song was Baby Come Back, by Player.  I missed this campaign entirely, as I was a junior at CU.  Didn't even catch Golden's initial run on the comic until a year or two after the fact, but when I finally saw it, wowsers.  "Let's get small" took on a whole new meaning for me.   With multiple ads, I feel like I'm miss'n sump'n, so clue me in if you know of others.  Also, the last one here (Bug on a bat) is way too small and blurry, if you can hook me up.  Baby come back, indeed

  1. I'm cheating, because I recently got the Epic Collection. You seem to have all of them. I think you can double check in the Marvel titles from Feb 1979. One thing I was unaware of was the parody "Macronauts" ad that Golden drew and Larry Hama wrote for the back cover of Crazy #63. I was at a weekend-long convention in Orlando when the first issue came out and picked it up there. It's hard to describe, or even quite remember, just how different the comic seemed back then.

    1. Awesome comment on a lot a levels. First, thanks for not bust'n my chops about my confusion on the Micronauts release date. I was look'n up all these nifty ads while also look'n up Baby Come Back. I wasn't at CU atall when they first were published, I was teaching on the Navajo reservation, hundreds of miles from any comic sources. I definitely wanna go find some Feb 1979 Marvels to see the original ads, and I love the back cover of Crazy you turned me onto
