Spider Man #3 Cover by Steve Ditko

Now, don't get me wrong, cause I dig everything Ditko did on the original Spidey, include'n Doc Ock, but this initial image of Parker VS Doctor Octavius is amaz'n, and far and away greater than anything that followed.  Check out the wayback for the cover I think is the ultimate Spidey VS Green Goblin, Spider Man #23

    So true, with the nice Ditko machinery in the background. I remember buying this from the comic rack (yes I am THAT old). His style was so different from DC much less anyone else at Marvel.

    Oh heck yeah. Around first grade I liked Little Lulu, Casper the Friendly Ghose, Richie Rich then found the first JLA at a cousins house and the rest is history

      I'm a lot slower. Spent three more years with Bugs and Casper, until I saw the cover to Thor #135 and the floodlights finally kicked on
