Starman's Son by Ken Barr

This Barr fellow is another real mystery to me.  He could out-Boris Boris, and rocked on fanzines in the early seventies, and some Marvel Magazines, and paperback covers, but, then....poof.  Maybe he stepped onto the carousel at the end of Now You See Me

  1. I first saw his work on the cover of Phase, one of the most lavish fanzines ever, put together by Sal Quartuccio. That cover was reprinted as the cover for Roger Zelazny's Guns of Avalon and may have been his entree into the American paperback market (he's a Brit). Sal Q published a book of his art about ten years ago. I think he'd be in his eighties by now.

  2. Thanks for the info on a truly great artist! My wraparound Phase cover is in pretty beat condition, but I'll look for a nice scan to post soon. He also did a cover for The Collector that was spot-on old school EC, and that should look great
