  1. In the title "Conan Tuppenny portfolio", I've often wondered what the heck inclusion of the word "tuppenny" is supposed to mean. I looked up the word and it is just another British way of saying "two pennies". As best I can observe, the portfolio (a decorative envelope, the same image duplicated on the interior portfolio sleeve, and 6 interior images, all in black-and-white) has a $2.00 cover price on the envelope, and that's where the name comes from.

Probably the most famous image from this portfolio is reprinted in color as athe back cover of MARVEL TREASURY EDITION 4, June 1975, in beautiful colors, presumably colored by Windsor-Smith himself. Suitable for framing!
The same treasury reprints "Rogues In the House" from CONAN THE BARBARIAN 11 (Nov 1971), and "Red Nails" from SAVAGE TALES 2 and 3 (Oct 1973, Feb 1974)
