Galactic Head by Jack Kirby Re-visited

A month ago, I put up three images of this, explaining that only the 21st Century Archives card had the only un-cropped version I had seen.  A very popular post, I've seen many re-posts of the card image, most try'n (not very successfully) to crop out the card markings, so I thought I would put up the card again, but all cleaned up.  Enjoy.  And, last month Mike and I both joked about wanting to wear a T-shirt with this image, and now it exists!  Mike, we just need to get to the original Comicon in San Diego and stop by the Kirby Museum booth (and if the Delorean hits the cable at exactly 88 MPH at the precise moment the lightning strikes the clock tower....everything will be fine...)

Another Jack Kirby Mystery

Okay, help me out here again---who's THIS guy?  The easy answer is Darkseid, but he didn't sport a gun himself (not part of his character to sully his own hands, methinks), and the helmet is too gaudy.  But of course the gun and helmet would make sense if Jack was presenting a Darkseid toy figure.  This would also explain the front and back views.  Except...this art looks like Kirby Prime, BT (before toys).  I've obviously way overthunk it, I just get perplexed when the art is printed w/o an explanation (shades'o Cap'n's Comics)

The Gods of Mars by Frank Frazetta

Yep, Ricky Bobbie, that just happened!  A few posts back I put up some versions of this as Warlord of Mars (nice to have two titles to play with), but I wasn't really satiated.  This painting has haunted me for a long time, both as the initial loosey-goosey cover on the book club book and the latter, fine-line version.  What I forgot last time around was this nice printing by Betty Ballantine (first image), and then today I walked into a Used Books store and found one book club edition amongst a shelf of E R Burroughs hardbounds-this!  Please embiggen both
