My buddy Wayne showed me the new Warren Washes collection of Steve Ditko last week, and inspired me to look at this again.  Every panel is a masterpiece of great washing.  The hardbound is only twenty bucks, and pretty ahright.  I scanned this from Eerie 6, and kinda eerie that it started on page 13

What can I say?  Somebody had a shelf of pristine paperbacks of stuff right up my alley, and finally traded 'em in at the used book stores

yeah, yeah, yeah---New To Me, That Is!  Pleasantly surprised to find this in such nice shape.  The paint strokes are so wide, when you embiggen, it almost seems to blur, but still a great cover

Orange You Glad Jim Steranko Painted John Stark?

I read somewhere long ago that the first John Stark cover (Ginger Star) wasn't even done for that book, but Leigh Brackett saw Steranko's painting and said it was the definitive visual of her character.  That led to this, the second John Stark cover (The Hounds of Skaith), and what a wonderful happenstance

Cat Girl by Frank Frazetta

Just read tonight that Frank's all-time favorite Frazetta painting was Cat Girl.  I'm pretty stoked, cuz it's my all-time Fritz fav also.  Jack and Roz Kirby agreed with me on New Gods number 7 as well.  Makes me wonder how Steranko feels about Shield #2, or Berni Wrightson feels about Swamp Thing #2, or what Gil Kane would have had to say about Sword of the Atom Special #2, or if Barry Smith digs Conan number 4,  or if Wally Wood would have agreed with me on My World, or.......okay, I'll keep the rest of my rantings on synchronicity of favs to myself
