The ancient (1965) fanzine cover to all stars! is che great, but I love the fully colored version I found on a Spanish blog. If you know who colored it, please holla. We've only mentioned 2 or 3 colorists on here, and I am always indebted to some cool shades. Shoulda said the roulette phrase always bet red, like the original monochrome cover, but the new colors look cool on the dino, too, and I actually do always bet green on roulette. Course, I go home broke like everybody else, but it's fun while it lasts

Coupla OG Barry Smith
First is the Warrior of Lemuria poster, but biggerbetterfasterstronger than my waybacks of this, then a try-out page by Barry that I just saw, then the Kirby inspiration for young Barry (except it didn't exist until several years later-so it's Deja Vu in reverse, or my old buddy Vuja Dave)

Maximum State by Jack Kirby
One day in the wayback, I get to work and they say, "Hey, Cap'n we just got this great new printer! Would you mind try'n it out?" This is onea dozen pictures I printed (just now found it amongst my stacks), and acourse it's from New Gods #5, but where did I find those colors? If you have any idea, please holla

The Warlord by Gil Kane
First is a page from the iconic Blackmark paperback, then half of a half-page ad for Blackmark from The Buyer's Guide For Comic Fandom #7 (both from 1971). The pencils are slightly different, but I dig see'n both, and how about the quarter-page ad right above it? Some guy named Frazetta, and THAT ad was a full page in Rocket's Blast

Justice inc. #2 Cover by Jack Kirby
Still onea my all-time fav comic book covers. The Avenger, as the ad read, doesn't just fight crime...he destroys it! Dunno why, but I did not hang onto this

Another Mr. A by Steve Ditko
How can such simple lines be so captivate'n? The master of Spiderman, Doc Strange, The Creeper, and The Blue Beetle strikes again
Ferry Dust by Berni Wrightson
If you're being taken across this river (Styx) by this ferryman, then you are dust. Another fundundant image, but this one is biggerbetterfasterstronger (please embiggen)
Batman by Dennis Fujitake
First is the original, then how I first saw it as the backa some fanzine (an Amaz'n Heroes, maybe?). Said it before, but my delight with earlier Fujitake was all the spacemen and/or barbarians, not the superheroe thang
A Barry Smith I Completely Forgot!
Sheeeesh! Here's the design from the back of the Fantastic Islands Portfolio by Barry Smith. I had the seven hundreth signed copy I bought like forty-five years ago (that's a zerox of the plate I attempted to color), but I sold it fairly quickly, and forgot that amongst all the copies, I had copied the front and back of the big envelope it was in. Yesterday, I'm doing a recycling sweep through all my stacks, and see the first image again. I've posted the colored plates three times in the wayback, but never the nifty little square. It's like I sometimes say, I've forgotten more than most comic art fans will ever know
New Fanzine Art by Jim Pinkoski!
Yeah, yeah, just new to me. Here's another chance to win onea the Cap'n's Coveted Non-Prizes. In the wayback, I posted another Pinkoski Picture from the same fanzine, sooooo...your mission (if you decide to accept it, Mr. Phelps) is to tell me the name of that fanzine

Have Mercy! by John Fantucchio
Ming The Merciless, and the last image is new! (yeah, yeah, just new to me) Everytime I see a new Fantucchio, I get fantashivers

The P Is Silent by Bob Kline
Only the last one is new to me, but it helped me to finally put two and two together (ha!). Bob, like many of the young bucks doing art in the classic fanzine era, had a great obsession with dinosaurs
Eternals Promo by Jack Kirby
First is the presentation piece as it appeared in a latter-day fanzine, then the presentation piece as the two-page pencils Jack showed Marvel (somebody instantly changed The Gods to The Eternals to avoid a fight with DC), then finally, the ppromo as we saw it

Star Hawks' Rex's Hair by Gil Kane
When Star Hawks was being published in the papers, on Monday thru Saturday, it didn't come up, but on Sundays, Rex's hair appeared to be prematurely white, like Kane himself and somea his other characters, notably Cap'n Marvel and Savage. The last image is from France, and I dunno what was going on there, but if you search France Star Hawks on here, it's all that brown hair for Rex
