Bullseye by Jack Kirby

Yeeee-hah!  The happiest of Kirby's Kreations

  1. These were so much more that the usual comics fare back then. I wish I could get them in a reprint but if one keeps buying the large Kirby reprints I guess I can read them all (besides the semi-legal torrents sites, ahem)

  2. True confessions time (again), but I could personally care less if they reprinted the seven original comics. As you can probably tell, I think the covers are pretty sweet, but what really rocks (I think) are the drawings of Bullseye in the sixties and seventies (Kirby Prime, I calls it)

  3. That it is. Prime. Then he went larger less detailed more, I don't know, choppy storytelling and less of what we call 'prime".

  4. Obviously an age thing (I can speak from experience that Mick Jagger was right about, "What a drag it is getting old-"), and I can't remember (another age problem) what artist or artists I was reading about, but strokes, arthritis, fading vision, etc., definitely played havoc with the mighty as they aged, be it Kirby, Frazetta, Wally Wood--except Steranko seems to keep rock'n with perspective, proportion, cutting edge zap deco
