This wraparound cover for the reprints of #1 and #2 suffered from the same fate as most great wraparounds---staples right in the middle of a great image. This copy of that cover (from Comic Book Marketplace ((the Steranko issue-duh)) doesn't suffer from the same fate, but here the colors are too much. I vow to continue to search for the perfect version of this amaz'n cover

And the cover of the recent SHIELD by Steranko Complete Collection used this image, but applied that "modern" post-Matrix computerized color with lots of impact-dulling modelling, and a palette that makes you think you're losing your eyesight. There's a version in the interior that's not bad, but it runs across a fold.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the nature of this collection, they might've just asked Steranko himself to color it, or even provide a new cover.
