Fantastic Four #70 Cover by Jack Kirby

This cover shows the android attacked at night, but the story is in the day

Weirdness With Weird Fantasy

Just the other I put up the cover to Weird Fantsy #21 by Al Williamson and Frank Frazetta, but like I said last post, I just got Squa Tront #4, and it shows a completely diff prelim to the cover just by Al (and WF 13 is here so you know the 13 on the prelim had squat to do with it)

A Flight Into Mystery with Rich Corben

1981, and at a small bookstore in a small mall in a small town, I find the book with this title page.  Must be Razar from Fantagor, but no luck.  I also follow every reference Fershid listed in his book, but found squat about this. Today I acquired Squa Tront #4 from 1970, and right in the middle is this illo as an intro to a couple of amaz'n EC stories. 49 or 37 years later, mystery solved

Axe Me No Questions by Berni Wrightson

....and I'll tell you no lies.  First Berni gave us the Color The Creatures coloring book, then he showed us how

I'm Beyond Your Megaton Touch!! by Jack Kirby

When I first saw issue 8 of Forever People, I thought it was a let-down, but I was very mistaken

Trio Of Conan 14ers by Barry Smith

It's Colorado, so of course I've climbed some 14ers, but these 14ers look like 14 foot without the thousands.  Speak'n of elevation, check out the size and height changes from the original

Minos Taurus! by Wally Wood

The Cap'n is a Taurus (happy birthday to me soon), so you know I dig this, and now I can stare at the original art

Return To The Stars by Jim Steranko

Yeah, it's the fun but repetitive blog--Cap'n's Comics.  It's getting so weird that when I'm tracking an image and it pops up on Pinterest, I'm the source of what I'm search'n for

Conan The Mumbler by Berni Wrightson

Okay, I give up.  I guess I'll never see this great early Wrightson without a giant staple in Conan's mouth

Incredible Science Fiction #33 Cover by Wally Wood

This came out in 1956, the year I was born, and it was the last of the amazeballs EC comics.  I first saw it as an ad in Rocket's Blast (how apropo) in 1972. So I feel I can say with authority this image never gets old

My Moment Of Total Triumph! by Jack Kirby

When I saw Jim Steranko's take on Loki (I saw it at my buddy Jan's ((or Yahn or John)) house in 1973 as a two by three foot poster from an art class project), I thought wow, no one has ever drawn Loki this way....but I now know Kirby was drawing Loki that way all along, before colettaeditta and inks

The Swamp Creature by Jeff Jones

I know I've put the puzzle box cover up before, but dunnae think I put up the original.  Puzzle colors were too bright and cheerful, methinks

Freaks by Berni Wrightson

Couldnae find a bigger Freaks II (later that same day?), but she's super-freaky, the kind you don't take home to mother.  Rick James passed way too early
