Chane Chane Chane by Gil Kane

Like from the great song by Aretha Franklin.  These three Chanes are from my third Chane, all in Savage Sword of Conan-- #s 63, 64, and this (don't tell the kids this number) from #67

  1. I'm not sure I've seen this; he really knew what he wanted to make comics about, though. There was a push to get Fanta to reprint Kane's French Jason Drum comic a few years ago (another Blackmark lookalike). They're doing the lost Marvels collections. I wouldn't object to a book of all of Kane's Marvel fantasy/sci-fi obscurities.

  2. I KNOW you'd not seen this, because 5 years ago, you told me you hadn't seen this! (see Chane on the wayback search, and see Jason Drum in my search, but, yeah, sump'n very Blackmarkish, especially with those special horseys) I, too, would not kick a collection of Kane fantasy obscura outa bed just for eat'n crackers. For one thing, I need more Flame Horse

  3. Nice to have the disintegration of my memory fully documented. But did you know Kane had completed the Drum story in pencil and it remains unpublished? https://www.firstcomicsnews.com/jonas-vesterlund-on-gil-kanes-jason-drum-and-how-you-can-help-make-kanes-lost-story-a-reality/

    1. Hah! Welcome to Cap'n Forgetful Jones' world. Many's the time I get all psyched for a post and find I've pretty much done it before. Thanks for the great article on Jason Drum! Another fantasy for my fantasy list (double entende is the best entende)
